Dawn to Dusk
-Murji Hamir Vankar
Our lives as Vankars with the Rabaris has been one long winding path. In this nostalgic panel, I have woven the seamless rhythm that stayed in our lives for a many many years. The panel begins with sunrise at the bottom and takes the herders, herds, weavers and looms into the sunset at the top of the panel. This long woven panel recreates the vast grazing lands which would hold great stillness; and we would found quiet and solitude in herding and weaving. There was beauty in the repetitiveness of the days and nights, when both the communities would mingle and gossip over mystic bhajans.
