ನಾವು ಪಶುಪಾಲ ಸೂರ್ಯ ಉದಯಿಸುವ ಮುನ್ನವೇ
ರಾಸುಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬದುಕು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸೋರು ನಾವು
ನಮ್ಮ ಗೂಡಿನ ದನಕರುಗಳ ಧ್ವನಿ ಕೇಳಿದರೆ ಸಾಕು
ಅದೇ ನಮಗೆ ಮುಂಜಾನೆಯ ಸಂಗೀತ ನಾವು ಪಶುಪಾಲಕರು
ಪಶು ಪಾಲಕರು
ನಾವು ಪಶುಪಾಲ ಸೂರ್ಯ ಉದಯಿಸುವ ಮುನ್ನವೇ
ರಾಸುಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬದುಕು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸೋರು ನಾವು
ನಮ್ಮ ಗೂಡಿನ ದನಕರುಗಳ ಧ್ವನಿ ಕೇಳಿದರೆ ಸಾಕು
ಅದೇ ನಮಗೆ ಮುಂಜಾನೆಯ ಸಂಗೀತ ನಾವು ಪಶುಪಾಲಕರು
ಜಗತ್ತು ಏನೆಂದೂ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ರಾಸುಗಳೇ ನಮ್ಮ
ಪ್ರಪಂಚ ಕಾಡು ಮೇಡುಗಳ ಅಲೆಯು ನಮ್ಮ
ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಕುರಿ ದನಗಳು ಮೇಯುವ ಹದವಾದ
ಹುಲ್ಲುಗಾವಲುಗಳು ಕಂಡರೆ ಆ ದಿನ ಹಾಲು ಅಡುಗೆ ಉಂಡಷ್ಟು.
ಸಂಭ್ರಮ ಪಡುವವರು ನಾವು ಪಶುಪಾಲಕರು
ಬಿಸಿಲು ಮಳೆಗೆ ಜಗ್ಗದವರು ಬಯಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ
ಮಲಗುವವರು ಮುರುಕು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಗುಕ್ಕು
ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದಿನ ಕಳೆಯುವವರು ನಾವು ಪಶುಪಾಲಕರು.
ಕುರಿ ದನಗಳ ಸಾಕಾಣಿಕೆಗಾಗಿ ವರ್ಷಗಟ್ಟಲೆ ಊರು
ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊಲಸೆ ಬರುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಸರಿ ನಮ್ಮ
ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಸಂಭ್ರಮದ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ
ನೋವು ನಲಿವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗಿಯಾಗಲೂ
ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ನಮ್ಮ ಬದುಕೆ ಹೀಗೆ ನಾವು ಪಶುಪಾಲಕರು
ಜೀವನ ಪೂರ್ತಿ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬದುಕುವ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿ
ಇರೋವರೆಗೂ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ಆರಾಧಕರು ನಾವು ಪಶುಪಾಲಕರು.
We the pastoralists
We the pastoralists,
Before dawn breaks, we rise with our herds,
Their gentle baa-ing, our morning’s first words.
This music of life, this pastoral sound,
Binds us to earth and the grazing ground
We are the shepherds, children o f earth,
Our world is simple, we know our worth.
Where wild hills wave and green pastures spread,
With fresh milk and joy, our spirits are fed.
Through sun and rain, we make our bed
Under open skies, where stars ouerhead
Watch as we feast on simple fare –
Water and roti, a shepherd’s prayer.
Years pass by as we wander far,
Missing village feasts, guided by star.
This is our calling, this is our way,
Nature’s chilaren, here we stay.
We are the shepherds, proud and free,
One with nature, a s we’ll always be.
As long as grass grows and rivers flow,
This ancient path, we’ll always know.
