Conferences & Consultations
While the exhibits at Living Lightly celebrate the unique life worlds of pastoral systems, practices and cultures, they are accompanied by a range of consultations and conversations which dwell on the myriad issues, concerns, challenges that have come to define the life of pastoralists today, anywhere and everywhere.
The exhibition becomes a fertile space for pastoralists, policy makers, academics, practitioners, and research students to gather, converse, have critical discussions, chart fresh directions, and learn from each other.
The conferences and consultations have also been vital in driving ground work on pastoralism. Consultations held during the first Living Lightly exhibition led to the formation of Centre for Pastoralism, and led to multiple collaborative projects around an array of issues concerning pastoralists in India.
