We are reaching out to tomorrow’s leaders and influencers by offering two round-tables in collaboration with the Department of Planning, CEPT, Ahmedabad, and the National Institute of Fashion Technology.
The round-table at CEPT, Ahmedabad, dwells on the theme of ‘mapping movements’; it is being convened by Dr Gauri Bharat, and mentored by Prof Neelkanth Chhaya. This round-table takes a closer look at animals and their various relationships to urban environments in an effort to go beyond simplistic narratives. It aims to document, narrate and reflect not just on the animals’ mobilities and ecosystems, but also our own spiritual, material and political dependencies on them. The patterns that emerge through this exercise may reveal relationships about our urban environments that may otherwise not be apparent. Dr Gauri Bharat has a deep interest in exploring how people engage with and why they value built environments; Prof Neelkanth Chhaya is renowned for his expertise on appropriate architecture in India, and has vast experience as an architect, academician and thinker.
